Since 1981 Ideal Stampi produces micro zinc die cast components
(maximum weight of 30 g – 1.0 oz) using ‘multi –slide’
technology. Zinc alloy characteristics are: excellent electrical
and thermal conductivity, high strength and hardness, excellent
thin wall capability, high dimensional stability, outstanding
corrosion resistance, ability to cold form (clinching, thread,
etc.) which eases joining and capacity to stand every galvanic
treatment as chrome-plating, zinc coating, gilding, nickel-plating,
coppering, etc.
What differentiates ‘Multi-slide’ die casting process
from traditional hot-chamber die casting is the particular tooling
that uses 4 orthogonal slides that moves independently of the
other, both during the closing and opening sequences. Pneumatics
pistons electronically managed move each slide and in some cases
slides can be added to made components with multiple complex
geometries or features.
Casting parameters were also investigated to improve the casting
quality and reduce the cycle time.
The machine’s cycle can speeds up to 50 cycles per minute
(according to the features peculiar to the component).
Nevertheless, our modern technology gives close control over
these values, thus producing castings with fine detail, close
tolerances and high strength.
This extreme flexibility coupled with our mould manufacturing
ability enables very complex and accurate castings to be produced.
You can find a lot of applications in several industries as
following:
· Electrical safety lock components;
· Precision gears;
· Valve body with shutter for inner tube, lighters, etc,
· Chassis and frames for electronic connectors;
· Clothing industry components: sliders, pullers, etc.
· Modelling components;
· Toys industry components: gears, wheels, etc.
